BREAKING NEWS: Governor Sule seeks establishment of special court for corruption cases

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has called on the National Assembly to enact a law establishing a special court dedicated to handling corruption cases in the country.

The governor made the call at the passing-out parade of 104 Detective Superintendent Cadets (Course 10) and Detective Inspector Cadets (Course 7) of the Nigeria Police Mobile Force Training College, Ende Hills, Akwanga, Nasarawa State.

Commending the cadets for completing their rigorous training, Governor Sule lauded the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, for what he described as the herculean task of tackling corruption nationwide.

He stressed that the volume of corruption cases required a special court for faster and more effective dispensation of justice.

In a remark, EFCC Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, said the passing-out parade marked another milestone in the lives of the cadets, preparing them for the enormous task of combating economic and financial crimes. He described the exercise as a demonstration of support for law enforcement and the anti-corruption crusade.

Also speaking, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption, Senator Emmanuel Udende, and Chairman of the House Committee on Financial Crimes, Senator Ginger Obinna, said the event symbolized a new chapter in the fight against corruption. They urged the cadets to maintain professionalism and integrity in their duties.

Commandant of the Police Mobile Training College, Ende Hills, Mr. Sunday Peter, congratulated the cadet officers for exhibiting high levels of discipline and maturity during the training.
