BREAKING NEWS: 2026 Hajj: NAHCON announces ₦200,000 fare cut
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has announced a reduction of about ₦200,000 in the fare for the 2026 Hajj, compared to the 2025 exercise.
A statement by the Commission explained that pilgrims from the Maiduguri–Yola Zone covering Yobe, Borno, Adamawa and Taraba States will pay ₦8,118,333.67, while those from other northern states are to pay ₦8,244,813.67. Pilgrims from the southern states will pay ₦8,561,013.67.
By contrast, in 2025, intending pilgrims from the Maiduguri–Yola Zone paid ₦8,327,125.59, those from the northern states paid ₦8,457,685.59, while pilgrims from the southern states paid ₦8,784,085.59.
Meanwhile, NAHCON has extended the deadline for payment to 31st December, 2025, following consultations with stakeholders and approval by the Federal Government.
The delegation currently in Saudi Arabia has signed agreements with the 2026 Hajj Service Provider, Mashareeq Al-Zahabiyya, and the Transportation Company, Daleel Al-Ma’aleem.
The Saudi authorities have fixed October 12, 2025, as the deadline for the submission of pilgrims’ data on the Nusuk platform.
NAHCON had earlier directed State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Agencies, Commissions, and licensed Hajj Tour Operators to remit all Hajj fares on or before 8th October, 2025
