BREAKING NEWS: Wike Dares Critics, Vows to Resign Within 48 Hours if Road Project Claims Are Proven False
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has boldly challenged his critics to disprove his administration’s claims on road construction projects across the FCT, declaring that he would resign within 48 hours if proven wrong.
Wike made the statement on Friday during the commissioning of the reconstructed Arab/Gbazango Road in Kubwa, located in the Bwari Area Council of the FCT.
The former Rivers State governor insisted that his administration has made significant progress in developing infrastructure across satellite towns, stating that a total of 317 kilometres of roads have been awarded, while 221 kilometres have already been completed.
According to him, several ongoing projects are also nearing completion, including the Apo–Karishi Road and the Bwari–Kubwa Road, both of which he said would be completed before the end of the year.
Wike noted that residents of satellite communities are now experiencing the benefits of government intervention through improved road infrastructure, describing the achievements as unprecedented in the history of the nation’s administration.
The minister challenged anyone who disagrees with the figures provided by his administration to publicly present evidence on national television within the next 48 hours.
He declared that if anyone can prove that his government did not award 317 kilometres of roads in the satellite towns or complete 221 kilometres as claimed, he would immediately step down as FCT Minister.
Wike reiterated his confidence in the records of his administration, stressing that the impact of ongoing infrastructure development is visible across the FCT and can be verified by residents and stakeholders.
The minister’s remarks have since sparked reactions, with many observers closely watching to see whether any individual or group will respond to his challenge.
