BREAKING NEWS: Ukpeliede Community Breaks Silence as Body Is Dumped in Ahoada West
The Ukpeliede Community in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State has broken its silence over the discovery of a dead body dumped within the community, strongly condemning the killing and distancing itself from the act.
Speaking on the incident, the Security Coordinator of Ukpeliede Community described the development as disturbing and unacceptable, stressing that the community is peaceful and does not engage in or support violence of any form.
According to him, no individual or group has the right to take another person’s life or bring a corpse into Ukpeliede Community under any circumstance. He emphasized that the people of Ukpeliede believe in God, peace, and love, and will not tolerate actions capable of tarnishing the image of the community.
“We do not play such a game here. Nobody has the right to kill and carry a dead body to Ukpeliede Community,” he stated.
The Security Coordinator confirmed that three suspects linked to the incident, along with the deceased, have been handed over to the Nigeria Police for proper investigation. He noted that the community does not know what caused the man’s death and has therefore allowed law enforcement agencies to carry out their duties.
“We as Ukpeliede do not know what killed the young man. Those involved should go and explain themselves to the police,” he added.
The community leadership has called on security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter while urging residents to remain calm and law-abiding as authorities work to unravel the circumstances surrounding the mysterious death.
