Breaking news: Next Year Election if Tinubu win All Of You Will Be In Trouble” — Rotimi Amaechi
According to a report by Symfoni TV, on Saturday February 14, 2026, a former Minister of Transportation and former governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, has issued a dire warning to Nigerians, claiming that a "controversial" tax reform is being deliberately suppressed until after the upcoming elections.
Speaking during a campaign rally for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Amaechi alleged that if the All Progressives Congress (APC) retains power, citizens will face a harsh economic reality as early as February next year.
Amaechi claimed that the current administration, led by President Bola Tinubu, has developed a tax framework that would allow for significant automatic deductions from financial transactions.
He suggested the government is withholding implementation solely to avoid a backlash before voters head to the polls.
“Now, by February next year, all of you will be in trouble if APC wins. Go and check. What do you check? There is a tax law. Tinubu, why is the tax law not being implemented? It's because of the election. Immediately after the election, APC will implement the tax law,” Amaechi warned.
The former governor broke down how he believes the policy would function, using a hypothetical scenario to illustrate a potential 25% deduction on business payments.
He argued that if a contractor is paid ₦100 million for materials, they might see ₦25 million immediately diverted to federal coffers.
Amaechi warned that such a move would trigger a massive spike in the cost of living, as professionals and service providers from landlords to doctors would likely hike their prices to compensate for the lost revenue.
