BREAKING NEWS: N’west youths want candidate to replace Yilwatda as minister

 A group under the aegis of Coalition of Arewa Youth Groups has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to consider appointing Nasir Bala Aminu popularly known as Ja’oji as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

The plea is contained in a statement by the Northwest Zonal Coordinator of the Group, Balarabe Abdullahi Jega, and made available to newsmen on Thursday in Kano.

“We, the above mentioned youth groups from Northern Nigeria, after an emergency meeting with our North West Branch of the association, held in Kano, today, Thursday, July 24th, 2025, over the vacant position of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, following the appointment of Mr Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, as the new National Chairman of All Progressives Congress, met and discussed on the way forward in the new direction, for replacement.

“With the large concentration of APC supporters from North West geo-political zone, we are respectfully calling the good attention of our dear President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to kindly consider our zone, particularly Kano, which gave the highest votes to the President, during 2023 general election.

“We are calling on Mr President to kindly appreciate our own, a voice for the voiceless youth across North, whose unmatched contributions to youth development, was acknowledged recently by the Emir of Daura, as he crowned him with the title of Adon Garin Kasar Hausa- The Jewel of Hausa Land – Hon Nasir Bala Aminu (Ja’oji), who is currently a member of the Governing Council of Federal College of Education (Technical), Potiskum, Yobe State.

“A renowned and respected youth of great substance in Kano State and beyond whose contributions to humanity are acknowledged by many within and outside Kano state, his home state,” the statement said.

According to the statement, “the contributions of Ja’oji to human development generally are unwavering and patriotic.

“He runs special scholarships for students within and outside Nigeria. He believes in APC’s policy, projects, and programmes. With unwavering loyalty to our dear president.

“Ja’oji’s name rings bell within the political class in the North and within the grassroot people, who own real and genuine votes.

“All his programmes as a philanthropist are cutting-edge with the touch of global best practices. As a member of the Governing Council, he does what none of our present ministers who come from Kano state can not attempt to do.

“His capacity is well defined and appreciated by all,” the group highlighted.

It assured President Tinubu that he (Tinubu) would not regret the choice and confidence that would be reposed in Ja’o’ji, stressing that Ja’o’ji has all it takes for the position.

“The capacity is undoubtedly there, political will is always available, and loyalty to the president will be his main thrust for engagement and commitment,” the statement concluded.
