Rivers Sole Administrator Suspends All Govt Officials Appointed By Fubara, Orders Immediate Handover.

The Rivers State Government has announced the suspension of all political office holders and appointees across the state, effective Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

A statement issued by the Chief of Staff to the state’s Administrator, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, confirmed that the directive was in line with the powers conferred on him by President Bola Tinubu.

The suspension affects key officials, including:

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG)

The Chief of Staff

All Honourable Commissioners

Chairmen and members of boards, agencies, commissions, and parastatals

All Special Advisers, Special Assistants, and Senior Special Assistants

The affected officials have been instructed to hand over to the Permanent Secretaries of their respective ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs). Where no Permanent Secretary is in place, the most senior Director or Head of Administration is to take charge.

This directive takes immediate effect.
