FORTY-FOUR-YEAR-OLD BASSIROU DIOMAYE FAYE WINS SENEGAL PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
The win by the opposition candidate who will be Senegal’s youngest president could trigger a political earthquake with policies that transform the country.
Faye, 44, promised left-wing pan-Africanism. He has never held a nationally elected position before now.
In his first media appearance following the elections, Faye restated his commitment to combating corruption, bringing stability, and prioritizing economic sovereignty.
“I am committed to governing with humility, in transparency, and to fight corruption. In electing me, the Senegalese people have chosen to break with the past,” he said.
Congratulations! Young Mind 👍
