VeryDarkMan Explains Why He Will Stop Discussing Senator Natasha
Social commentator VeryDarkMan has explained his decision to temporarily stop commenting on issues involving Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan following a conversation with what he described as one of his senior associates.
In a statement, VeryDarkMan said the individual advised him to stop discussing Senator Natasha because she is reportedly preparing to contest for the Kogi Central senatorial seat against former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello.
According to him, his associate expressed concern that some of his comments could negatively affect the senator’s political interests.
VeryDarkMan said he responded by clarifying that he was not responsible for initially publishing the alleged voice recording involving Natasha. He maintained that the recording had already been circulating online for days before he offered his own analysis of it.
He said the conversation later shifted to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, with the associate encouraging him to focus more attention on issues involving the Senate President.
VeryDarkMan subsequently said he had agreed not to discuss Senator Natasha further. However, he stated that he would analyse the alleged recording involving Akpabio if the social media personalities and blogs that published the Akpabio recording also publish the recording involving Natasha.
He referenced social media commentator Serah Ibrahim, other online personalities, as well as blogs on Instagram and Facebook that had shared the Akpabio recording.
According to him, publishing both recordings would allow members of the public to consider the two controversies on the same basis.
VeryDarkMan also encouraged Nigerians to listen to the recordings themselves and make their own assessments rather than relying entirely on commentaries from social media personalities.
In his closing remarks, he criticised what he described as selective accountability, arguing that public figures should be subjected to the same standard of scrutiny regardless of political affiliation.
He then announced that he would move on to other issues for the time being, saying he would revisit the matter if the platforms he mentioned also publish the alleged Natasha recording.
