JUST IN: Sowunmi Describes Wike as One of PDP’s Most Reliable Political Figures
Segun Sowunmi, Convener of The Alternative Movement and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has described FCT Minister Nyesom Wike as one of the most reliable and dependable figures within the party.
Sowunmi made the remarks while discussing the political dynamics within the PDP and the emerging alliances ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, Wike is a politician whose words can be relied upon, stressing that his consistency and willingness to stand by his commitments have distinguished him among political actors.
Sowunmi also referred to Wike’s emerging political strategy as the “Rainbow Coalition,” a concept centred on bringing together politicians and supporters from different political backgrounds and interests.
Wike has previously said that his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid is being pursued through the Rainbow Coalition rather than as a formal alignment with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Sowunmi’s comments come amid ongoing political realignments and coalition-building across Nigeria as parties and political figures position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
Recent reports also indicate that Sowunmi has been involved in grassroots mobilisation in Ogun State in support of Tinubu’s re-election bid.
