Nigerian music superstar Davido has sparked reactions on social media after responding to recent photos shared by billionaire businessman and BUA Group Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu, during his Umrah pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
Rabiu, widely recognized as one of Nigeria’s wealthiest entrepreneurs, posted images of himself at the Holy Kaaba in Mecca on his official Instagram account. The photos showed the business mogul dressed in the traditional white ihram worn by Muslim pilgrims while performing Umrah, the lesser Islamic pilgrimage.
Sharing his experience, Rabiu expressed gratitude for the opportunity to worship at one of Islam’s holiest sites during the sacred month of Maulud, which marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
In his message, he described the visit as a blessing and prayed for divine mercy, guidance, and acceptance of the prayers of Muslims performing pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
“What a blessing to be here before the Holy Kaaba performing Umrah, in this blessed month of Maulud—the month of the birth of our beloved Prophet Muhammad,” Rabiu wrote.
He also offered prayers for fellow pilgrims, asking Allah to accept every sincere supplication and intention.
The post quickly attracted attention from thousands of followers, admirers, and public figures. Among those who reacted was Afrobeats sensation Davido, whose lighthearted comment instantly caught the attention of fans.
Responding to the billionaire’s photos, Davido playfully referred to Abdul Samad Rabiu as his “twin,” a remark that generated amusement and further engagement in the comment section.
The interaction highlighted the friendly and relatable side of both public figures, with many social media users enjoying the unexpected exchange between one of Africa’s biggest music stars and one of Nigeria’s leading businessmen.
