APC Gains Momentum as 12,000 New Members Join Party in Kaduna

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has recorded a significant political boost in Kaduna State following the defection of no fewer than 12,000 members from various political parties to the ruling party in Lere Local Government Area.

The mass defection took place on Sunday during separate events held in Ramin Kura and Gure/Kahugu wards, where the new members were officially received by the Kaduna State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Alhaji Abubakar Buba, who represented Governor Uba Sani.

The ceremony attracted prominent party leaders, government officials, traditional leaders, and supporters from across Ramin Kura, Lere, and Gure/Kahugu communities.

Speaking at the event, Alhaji Buba reaffirmed Governor Uba Sani’s commitment to justice, fairness, and equal treatment for all residents of Kaduna State. He noted that the governor’s rural transformation initiatives have continued to win the confidence of citizens across different political backgrounds.

According to him, the administration’s investments in road construction, education, and other critical infrastructure projects have strengthened public trust and contributed to the growing support for the APC.

Buba assured the defectors that they would enjoy equal opportunities within the party and be fully integrated without any form of discrimination.

The Chairman of Lere Local Government Area, Alhaji Jafaru Ahmad, described the large-scale defections as a clear indication of increasing public confidence in the APC-led administration. He commended the new members for what he called a wise and timely decision to join the ruling party.

Similarly, the APC Chairman in Lere Local Government Area, Mr. Jonathan Shekarau, welcomed the defectors and assured them of fair treatment within the party. He emphasized the APC’s commitment to good governance and its determination to address challenges inherited from previous administrations.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members Mr. Nathan Azman and Mr. Rayyanu Dauda attributed their decision to join the APC to Governor Uba Sani’s inclusive leadership style and commitment to equitable development.

They praised the administration’s efforts in improving the welfare of citizens and fostering unity across the state. However, they appealed to the government to prioritize the rehabilitation of roads in their communities and complete a secondary school project that has remained abandoned for decades.

The new APC members pledged their loyalty to the party and expressed their readiness to support Governor Uba Sani’s development agenda aimed at advancing growth and prosperity across Kaduna State.

The development is expected to further strengthen the APC’s political presence in Kaduna State as preparations gradually begin ahead of future electoral activities.
