In 2023 Election Wike Worked and Recorded a big Victory In R/S; While others Lost In there States - Dokubo

In a recent video shared on Facebook on Friday, February 13, 2026, Niger Delta activist and Kalabari chieftain, Asari Dokubo, discussed the outcome of the 2023 presidential election in Rivers State and across Nigeria.

According to Dokubo, “Wike worked, and we had a slim victory in Rivers State; apart from that, we lost in other states,” as he reflected on the efforts of Governor Nyesom Wike during the election and the limited success they achieved in their stronghold.

He explained that while Rivers State was narrowly won due to effective campaigning and mobilization, other states did not yield similar results. According to Dokubo, various political and structural factors contributed to their losses outside the state.

Dokubo emphasized that elections in Nigeria are influenced by local dynamics, alliances, and voter behavior, which can differ significantly from one region to another. According to him, understanding these regional patterns is critical for political strategy.

He added that Wike’s efforts were commendable, highlighting the governor’s role in organizing supporters and ensuring that Rivers State leaned in their favor. According to Dokubo, this slim victory reflects the importance of local leadership and grassroots engagement in elections.

Dokubo concluded by noting that while they faced setbacks elsewhere, the experience offers lessons for future political planning. He stated that analyzing both successes and failures is essential to strengthen campaigns and improve performance in subsequent elections.
