EKPEYE OIL AND GAS FORUM MEETS WITH EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF AHOADA WEST LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

The Ekpeye Oil and Gas Forum today, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area, Hon. Eugene Chita Epelle, to discuss matters of mutual interest and benefit to the Host and Impacted Communities.

During the meeting, the Chairman emphasized the need for Total Energies to implement the Local Content and Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) provisions, which are designed to benefit the Host and Impacted Communities. He noted that the Local Content provision of the PIA is a critical component of the oil and gas industry's contribution to the development of the Niger Delta region.

Hon. Eugene urged the Ekpeye Oil and Gas Forum to use their good offices to impress upon Total Energies the need to comply with the provisions of the PIA, particularly with regards to Local Content development. He emphasized that Local Content is not just about employment, but also about procurement of goods and services, training, and capacity building.

The Ekpeye Oil and Gas Forum expressed their appreciation for the Chairman's leadership and commitment to the development of the Local Government Area. They assured him of their support and cooperation in ensuring that the oil and gas industry contributes maximally to the development of the area.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with both parties expressing optimism about the future of the oil and gas industry in Ahoada West Local Government Area.
