BREAKING NEWS:Tinubu Swears In New NNPCL Board, Management in Abuja
President Bola Tinubu officially swore in the board and management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) on Thursday, seven weeks after their appointment on April 2, 2025. The brief ceremony took place at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja, after which the President attended the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Summit at the State House Banquet Hall.
The 11-member board is led by Non-Executive Chairman Ahmadu Kida, with Bashir Ojulari as the Group Chief Executive Officer. Other members include Adedapo Segun and Bello Rabiu (North West), Yusuf Usman (North East), Babs Omotowa, a former Managing Director of Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (North Central), Austin Avuru (South-South), David Ige (South-West), and Henry Obih (South-East). Lydia Jafiya, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance, represents the ministry, while Aminu Ahmed represents the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
The swearing-in was attended by key government officials, including Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Wale Edun, Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris, and Minister of State for Petroleum (Oil) Heineken Lokpobiri.
