Concerned Rivers Youths Accuse Suspended Governor Fubara of Sponsoring Protest Against President Tinubu in Port Harcourt

In a shocking twist of events, fresh evidence has emerged linking the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, to a politically charged protest that disrupted peace and order in Port Harcourt earlier today. The demonstration, staged along the bustling Aba Road under the banner “Bring Back Our SIM”, was allegedly aimed at discrediting the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to sources close to the protest’s planning, the event was far from a spontaneous show of public support. It was, in fact, a well-funded and premeditated demonstration. Over ₦150 million was allegedly funneled into the protest by Fubara’s camp, with his Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie, said to have coordinated the release of funds to mobilize participants from across the state.

Eyewitnesses recounted that the protest severely disrupted vehicular movement, created panic, and threatened public peace. Following the protest, some participants were reportedly seen entering the Woji residence of the suspended Governor, further fueling suspicions of his involvement. Photos and videos circulating online show the same branded shirts and flags used during the protest being carried into the property.

The group, Concerned Rivers Youths, has condemned the protest as an “act of political provocation and sabotage,” accusing Fubara of attempting to undermine the authority of President Tinubu and destabilize the prevailing peace in the state.

“The good people of Rivers State have embraced peace and development. We will not allow the selfish ambitions of a suspended Governor to plunge our state into chaos,” the group said in a statement.

They further called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (Rtd), to take immediate action to forestall further acts of political subversion.

Security agencies have also been urged to launch a thorough investigation into the protest’s financing and organization, with the aim of bringing all culprits to book.

“The unity and progress of Rivers State must not be compromised,” the statement concluded. “Let those who hide under the cloak of suspended authority know that Rivers people demand accountability, peace, and responsible leadership—not street theatrics and paid agitation.”
