Abuja Rail Transit records 5,000 commuters daily – Wike

Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), says the Abuja Rail Mass Transit (ARMT) records between 4,000 and 5,000 commuters everyday.

Mr Wike disclosed this on Tuesday at the inauguration of the construction of the Kugbo Bus Terminal in Abuja.

The President had on May 30 inaugurated the commercial operations of the ARMT and announced free rides until December 30.

According to the FCT minister, the progress implies that the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Tinubu is working.

Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, while commenting on the train service, recalled riding on the train with President Tinubu and commended him for approving the free ride for Nigerians.

Senator Akpabio also congratulated Mr Wike for the achievements so far and advised him to “ignore distractions” and focus on his work.

“Some will say why Wike alone, but look at where we are now; we are about to inaugurate a major infrastructure that will touch the lives of people,” the Senate President said.

He also applauded President Tinubu for bringing onboard those “who can perform” .
