The court has declared that there was no point in time when Members of the Rivers State House of Assembly lost their seats. Consequently, these members have continuously carried out their constitutional duties without interruption.

Contrary to some reports, Hon. Victor Oko Jumbo was never the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly. All actions taken by him and two other suspended members have been deemed null and void by the court. This decision clarifies that Hon. Victor Oko Jumbo and the two other members did not possess the authority to undertake any legislative activities during their suspension.

Additionally, the court ruled that there was no instance when Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule and 27 other members defected from their political party. As a result, they have never lost their seats in the Assembly. This ruling ensures that their positions and actions within the Assembly remain legitimate and unbroken.

This judgment is seen as a significant step in addressing the executive overreach perceived in the actions taken by the Governor. The court's decision effectively corrects what has been termed as "executive rascality and madness," restoring order and affirming the supremacy of the law in the governance of Rivers State.

The ruling underscores the judiciary's role in maintaining checks and balances within the government, ensuring that elected representatives can fulfill their duties without unlawful interference.
