The Rivers State House of Assembly has once again surpassed Governor Siminialayi Fubara's approval for the third consecutive time in three months.

The Rivers State House of Assembly has once again surpassed Governor Siminialayi Fubara's approval for the third consecutive time in three months.

In March, the assembly had decided against Fubara in passing the Rivers State House of Assembly (RSHA) Service Commission Law.

In April, a similar action was taken when the local government amendment bill was enacted into law, even though Fubara declined to give his approval.

On Monday, the legislators approved the Rivers State Public Procurement (Amendment) Bill, 2024 and cautioned the governor about potential consequences if he persists in disregarding the state's laws.
