Iran’s Raisi funeral live: Ex-president to be buried after helicopter crash
Crowds have gathered in the capital Tehran for the funeral processions. Here’s what is expected today:
The main funeral procession started this morning at Tehran University.
From there, the procession will move to Tehran’s Freedom Square, where Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will give prayers.
Around 4pm (12:30 GMT), there will be a commemoration ceremony for Raisi attended by foreign dignitaries.
In the evening, Raisi’s body will head to his hometown of Mashad for burial. The others who were killed in the crash will be sent to their hometowns to be burie.
