BREAKING NEWS: Wike, Rainbow Coalition Leaders Visit Fubara in Port Harcourt

Wike, Rainbow Coalition Leaders Visit Fubara in Port Harcourt

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, alongside leaders of the Rainbow Coalition, on Tuesday paid a visit to Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, at his private residence in Port Harcourt.

The meeting was also attended by the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the state, Kingsley Chinda, and former Senator Magnus Abe.

The purpose of the meeting was not immediately disclosed. However, the visit is significant as it marked the first time Wike had met with Fubara at his private residence since the political crisis that strained relations between the two men erupted in Rivers State.

The development also comes after efforts to resolve the political differences between Wike and Fubara, which had generated considerable tension within the state’s political landscape.

Following the return of relative political calm, a reconciliation committee led by former Senator Magnus Abe had held two separate meetings with Governor Fubara at the Rivers State Government House.

The meetings were reportedly focused on reconciliation and discussions on how supporters of the governor could be accommodated within the emerging political arrangement in the state.

Tuesday’s meeting is therefore expected to attract attention within political circles, particularly amid ongoing realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
