Operation Hadin Kai: Troops Neutralise 16 Terrorists in Adamawa Ambush, Three Soldiers Killed
Troops of the Nigerian Army’s Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised 16 terrorists during a coordinated ambush on a suspected terrorist enclave in the Boima general area of Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The operation, conducted as part of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in the North-East, reportedly resulted in a significant tactical gain for the troops.
However, the Nigerian Army also suffered casualties after terrorists launched simultaneous attacks on troop positions at 226 Battalion in Garkida and 232 Battalion in Garaha, Adamawa State.
Three soldiers were killed in the attacks, according to the military.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Military Information Officer of the North-East Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, Maiduguri, Captain Mohammed Goni, said the incidents occurred between September 30 and October 1, 2026.
According to the statement, the operations were part of a series of coordinated engagements carried out by troops across Sector 4 Area of Operations in Adamawa State.
The statement said the troops recorded “significant tactical breakthroughs” during the encounters, highlighting the military’s continued operations against terrorist groups operating in the region.
The Nigerian Army said its forces remain committed to sustaining offensive operations and protecting communities and critical areas across the North-East.
