BREAKING NEWS: Wike to Lead Tinubu’s 2027 Re-Election Campaign in FCT, Rivers

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has announced plans to inaugurate and personally lead campaign teams for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid in the FCT and Rivers State.

Wike made the disclosure on Friday, September 25, 2026, after inspecting the ongoing Phase Two construction of the Kuje-Gwagwalada Road dualisation project in Abuja.

According to the minister, preparations are already underway among supporters of President Tinubu across different political platforms, while the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is also organising its campaign machinery ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“Very soon, I will inaugurate the campaign team for Tinubu in the FCT and Rivers State, which I will lead,” Wike said.

He also linked the administration’s ongoing infrastructure projects in Abuja to his campaign efforts, arguing that visible development would be an important part of the message presented to voters.

Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, has previously declared his support for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid and said he intends to mobilise political structures in both the FCT and Rivers State in support of the President.

His latest declaration further signals his planned role in the political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
