BREAKING NEWS: Jubilation as NDP Candidate Mulade Sheriff Receives Certificate of Return Ahead of 2027 Polls

Jubilation as NDP Candidate Mulade Sheriff Receives Certificate of Return Ahead of 2027 Polls

There was excitement and celebration across Warri Federal Constituency in Delta State as the National Democratic Party (NDP) House of Representatives candidate, Comrade Mulade Blessing Sheriff, officially received his Certificate of Return, marking a significant step in his journey toward the 2027 general elections.

The development has been welcomed by supporters and stakeholders across the constituency, who see Mulade's emergence as an opportunity for renewed leadership, inclusive representation, and sustainable development.

Speaking during the official flag-off and consultation meeting with party supporters and residents, Mulade reaffirmed his commitment to promoting peace, unity, and progress among the Ijaw, Itsekiri, and Urhobo ethnic nationalities that make up the Warri Federal Constituency.

The renowned environmental rights activist and United Nations Peace Ambassador pledged to deliver quality representation if elected to the House of Representatives in 2027. According to him, his priority would be to ensure that the constituency receives greater federal attention, improved infrastructure, and opportunities for economic growth.

Mulade stressed that the forthcoming election should be determined by competence, capacity, and a genuine desire to serve the people rather than political sentiments. He argued that despite the constituency's immense contribution to Nigeria's economy, many communities within Warri Federal Constituency have continued to suffer from inadequate development and insufficient federal presence.

He assured residents that his representation would focus on attracting impactful projects, creating employment opportunities, empowering youths and women, and improving the welfare of vulnerable groups.

The NDP candidate further promised to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of government to revive key economic assets within the region, including the Warri and Koko seaports, the Warri Industrial Park, and other critical infrastructure capable of stimulating economic activities and creating jobs.

According to Mulade, agriculture, fisheries, and skills acquisition programmes would form part of his broader strategy for youth empowerment and sustainable economic development.

Addressing supporters, he emphasized that his ambition was driven by a desire to bridge existing gaps in governance and representation rather than pursue political relevance.

He described himself as an independent voice committed to constructive advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and people-centered leadership, while assuring constituents that their concerns would receive strong and effective representation at the National Assembly.

Mulade also called on residents of the constituency to rise above ethnic and political divisions and embrace a common vision for peace, unity, and development.

He urged the Ijaw, Itsekiri, Urhobo, and other residents of the constituency to work together in building stronger relationships founded on trust and mutual respect, noting that lasting progress can only be achieved through collective effort and cooperation.

The event attracted support from several party leaders and stakeholders.

Speaking at the gathering, Delta State NDP Chairman, Hon. Chief Emeka Bidokwu, described Mulade as a grassroots leader with the capacity and commitment to represent the people effectively and attract meaningful development to the constituency.

Also lending his support, the party's Delta Central Senatorial candidate, Hon. Nathan Esiri Osume, represented by Hon. Alex Ogude, described Mulade as a beacon of hope for the people of Warri Federal Constituency.

Similarly, Hon. Kingsley Abugewa praised Mulade's leadership qualities, describing him as a tested and trusted candidate capable of delivering the dividends of democracy.

Representatives of the Itsekiri, Urhobo, and Ijaw ethnic groups, including Mr. Frank Egunje, Chief Okiemute Itemure, and Hon. Ambassador Adam Mabo, also expressed solidarity with the NDP candidate.

They noted that their support reflects a shared desire for effective representation, peaceful coexistence, and accelerated development across Warri Federal Constituency as preparations for the 2027 elections continue.
