The Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Senate Matters, Basheer Lado, has hosted Dr. Zainab Marwa ahead of her Senate screening for appointment to the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission.
According to a media post shared by Hon. Basheer Lado on Thursday, June 11, 2026, the meeting was held in his office as Dr. Marwa prepares for her screening by the Senate following her nomination by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
Dr. Marwa was nominated to represent the North-East geopolitical zone on the NDDC Governing Board.
Speaking on her nomination, Lado described her as a competent, resilient, and dedicated public servant with the experience and capacity required to contribute effectively to the commission's mandate.
He expressed confidence that her wealth of experience and unwavering commitment would ensure continuity on the board while providing strong representation for the North-East region in the affairs of the commission.
Lado further stated that Dr. Marwa’s appointment would help strengthen the commission’s developmental objectives and ensure that the interests of the North-East are adequately represented.
He added that her expected contributions would align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration and support efforts aimed at fostering national development and inclusive governance.
