BREAKING NEWS: House Minority Leaders Urge Tinubu to Take Charge of Nigeria’s Security Crîsis
Members of the House of Representatives Minority Caucus have called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to show leadership in the fight against insecurity in the country as armed bandits continue their atrocities, NewsDesk2 reports.
They made this known during a joint press briefing with members of the press on Wednesday.
According to the caucus, the country has been left in the dark as to what strategy will be adopted to curb the crisis.
The caucus said, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must therefore live up to the title and position of commander-in-chief by working out a pragmatic pathway out of this enduring quagmire.
“As a hero in our nation’s long-drawn battle with these insurgents, victory was close by, especially with the presence of mercenaries on the front lines.”
They added that until the administration takes a decisive step in the campaign against insecurity, armed bandits will continue their activities without restraint from the authorities.
“Today, no one is sure what his strategy to end peace. So, until his administration defines a clear vision and pursues it default, bandits continue to encircle the entire country, moving from Niger to Kwara, Oyo to et cetera, without as much as a pushback.
“General Rabe’s dëath must therefore evoke an urgent battle cry which proclaims never again.”
