TITLE:

EKPEYE PEOPLE REMAIN THANKFUL TO WIKE AND DECLARE UNALLOYED SUPPORT FOR PRESIDENT TINUBU’S ADMINISTRATION. CONDEMNS ACTIVITIES OF DETRACTORS.

Gentlemen of the Press, Ladies and Gentlemen. 

You are gathered here today at the instance of Ekpeye Peoples Forum who have taking it upon ourselves on behalf of all Ekpeye people to once again express our heartfelt appreciation and thanks to our worthy in-law, the former governor of Rivers State and now minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, His Excellency Chief Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike CON, GSSRS, Life Bencher for the numerous developmental projects and human empowerment he attracted to Ekpeye both when he was governor and now as a minister.

We wish to use this opportunity to express our concern over the recent wave of insecurity in the country and convey our sincere condolences to families who have lost relatives as a result of the terrorism in the country, especially the events of last week in which students and worshipers were abducted. 

We equally commend president Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for his determination to restore security and guarantee the safety of lives and properties in the country which he has demonstrated by taking bold steps including changing the Service Chiefs. The president’s determination to take a lead himself in the fight against insecurity has resulted in the immediate rescue of 38 abducted worshipers in Kwara state as well as the release of some of the kidnapped school children from Niger state and others.

We therefore urge the president not to relent as experience has shown that these activities are common each time we are approaching an election period and he should remain resolute so that the enemies of his administration will not succeed in their plot to taint his administration with sponsored insecurity.

As the third largest ethnic group in Rivers State both in terms of population, natural endowment and population, we have witnessed marginalization by past governments until the regime of Wike who wiped our tears and restored what was denied us by previous administrations since the creation of Rivers state. 

While the list of such projects is a long one, we wish to for emphasis sake mention some of them as follows:

1. Construction of Edeoha/Ikata/Ochigba roads.

2. Construction of Ahoada/Odhiemerenyi/Ihugbogo/Odhieke roads.

3. Construction of Ahoada/Ekpena roads.

4. Construction of Ogbo/Ihugbogo roads.

5. Construction Odhiemudie road.

6. Construction of Odiokwu Internal roads.

7. Construction of Obodhi/Ozochi road with bridge across Orashi River.

8. Dualization of Ahoada/Omoku road with street lights.

9. Construction of Ula Ehuda/Odiokwu/Odiereke road,

10. Construction of Odhioku Primary Health Care Centre.

11. Remodeling of Western Ahoada County High School Ahoada.

12. Sitting of Ahoada campus of Rivers State University.

13. Construction of Mbiama/Orkaki/Agbo road.

14. Remodeling of Government Secondary school Orkaki.

15. Construction of  Ogbede School.

16. Construction of Odhiogbor school.

17. Construction of Odido road with bridge.

18. Construction of Ahoada Zonal hospital

19. Upgrading and classification of 7 traditional stools to First Class.

20. Appointment of Ekpeye sons and daughters into positions in his government.

21. Empowerment of Ekpeye sons and daughters through contract awards etc.

 

As minister, Wike has facilitated the appointment of our illustrious son Rt. Hon Prince Chibudom Nwuche as chairman of South South Development Commission (SSDC) and our mother Mrs Dorcas Amos into the Board of the Hydrocarbons Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP) with the attendant benefits and empowerments to Ekpeye people.

A man who has done all these for a people befits nothing other than commendation and absolute loyalty and that is why as an ethnic group, we remain committed to the political ideas of Nyesom Wike and the RENEWD HOPE AGENDA of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is working tirelessly to transform the country.

As Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike has transformed Abuja making it a huge construction site that has put Abuja at par with global capital cities in the world.

As the saying goes, people often throw stones at trees which bear good ripe fruits, which we perceive as what is basically happening to our Leader Nyesom Wike whom many have decided to hate out of envy and jealousy since they cannot equate with him and so we urge him to ignore them and focus on the mandate to work with President Tinubu to transform Nigeria. 

We believe that for any reason whatsoever, an Ekpeye son should not be seen joining those hating Wike, as Hon. Nname Ewor has resorted to recently. Of course Hon Nname Ewor is an empty barrel with no value in Ekpeye and so we cannot watch him and his sponsors disgrace us further even though he is one of the greatest beneficiaries of the generosity and magnanimity of Nyesom Wike. 

This is a man who was dying of acute poverty after serving 8 years as a member of Rivers State House of Assembly and Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) almost took over his Liverpool Hotel in GRA Port Harcourt due to his failure to pay back the loan he took from the bank to build the hotel. It was Wike he ran to who not only resolved the loan issue, but also gave him a brand new Toyota Hilux and cash that brought him to life again. Wike also made him Rivers West Senatorial Vice Chairman of PDP in Rivers State, a position he now uses by taking undue advantage of the then misunderstanding between Gov. Sim Fubara and his Boss Wike to abuse Nyesom Wike. 

As concerned Ekpeye people, we urge Wike to ignore him as he is a known petty thief according to the Former Chairman of Ahoada Easter LGA, Barr. Benjamin Eke in a worldwide circulated video online.

Nname does not have a modicum of character and does not represent Ekpeye rather he is known for his selfishness to get money from people by all means including appearing in the media to insult Wike. This is a man who parades having a PhD but has failed to realize that the crises he once capitalized on to abuse Wike for pecuniary gains is over for him to reason properly. This failure leaves people with questions as to the sort of PhD holder that cannot apply common sense and reasoning.

This is a man who out of his frolic for money, attended the illegal Ibadan show of some PDP members impersonating as Chairman of PDP in Rivers State (which he never is) just to get money from the organizers of that Programme.

We therefore use this opportunity to thank the Governor for the quest to embrace and Maintain the Clamored Peace in Rivers State, we also call on the Executive Governor of Rivers State Sir Siminalayi Fubara, a man of peace and honour to be mindful of parasites and crises merchants like Nname Ewor who till today says it openly that he is fighting Wike for the Governor, refusing to come to reality that the misunderstanding is long over and the governor and Wike are now working together as father and son. 

Once again we thank the President for the love he has demonstrated to Nigerians and assure him of our unflinching support through our able leader His Excellency Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
