He made the remarks on Saturday in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, during the inauguration and empowerment of small business owners, indigent persons, and women, as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu’s administration.
According to Enwere, President Tinubu is determined to empower citizens in the South-Eastern states and ensure the region is fully included in the national development agenda.
“We are grateful to you all for believing in Mr. President’s Renewed Hope Agenda and accepting to be part of President Tinubu’s cause. Be rest assured that we will not let you down.
“We gather today as a collective voice, united in our determination to support President Tinubu for a second term.
“We believe in his vision, his leadership, and his unwavering commitment to building a brighter future for our nation,” he said.
He highlighted some of the policies implemented by the Tinubu administration, such as the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, which has enabled indigent students to complete their education without dropping out due to lack of funds. He also praised the removal of fuel subsidies, which he said has curbed corruption in the oil sector and freed up funds for developmental projects.
Enwere added that the establishment of the South East Development Commission would accelerate the region’s progress and urged all citizens to support President Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections.
Items distributed during the empowerment programme included motorcycles, mini buses, sewing machines, hair dryers, and grinding machines. Financial support was also provided to small businesses and indigent families: ₦200,000 for 100 business owners, ₦100,000 for 200 businesses, ₦50,000 for 300 businesses, ₦20,000 for 500 indigent families.
Speaking at the event, the Abia State Coordinator of SERHA, Amb. Uche Hilary-Adibe (JP) commended the president for his developmental strides in the South East and across the country. He urged President Tinubu not to relent in his efforts to make the region a model of progress.
“Today, we are honoured to welcome the national leadership of the Renewed Hope Agenda to our state, who have graciously travelled to inaugurate our state chapter.
“Your presence is a testament to the importance of grassroots mobilisation, youth and women empowerment, and community engagement in driving our collective progress,” he said.
